What’s in a name?
                                                                      Acts 4:12
We are told in this scripture that there is no other name under heaven by which a man/woman can be saved.  When we accept Christ as our Lord and savior we are grafted in.  We become one with Christ.  When the Name of Jesus Christ is said people react to it.  When a person says the name of George Washington people have a vision in their mind.  Mitt Romney, the same.   When a person’s name is mentioned we know who that person is.  We cannot be saved by Buddha, Mohamed, or any other name except Jesus the Christ. When we take on the name of Christian all of a sudden we take on a higher moral standard towards our actions.  I have heard it over and over again. And that person calls himself/herself a Christian.   The name means something.   Let’s say a person (adopts) a child as his own. But for what ever reason does not have the child name changed to his/her own.  Let’s say that child does some great things in his/her life.  The honor goes not to the Father/mother who raised it, but to the Father who was not the Father because the child did not have his Father/mothers name.   When we became Christians we took on the name of Christ.  When we took on the name of Christ we by the Son through the Spirit are grafted in the very being of God himself. (John 17)  When we become Christians our inheritance is a great life on this earth and a great continuation when we walk into heaven.   That is all because we trust in the Name of Jesus Christ and what Jesus Christ did on the Cross.  If a person tries to walk into Father Presence through any other name there is not any inheritance.  So today as we go about our business, let’s bring honor to the Name of Christ by all of our actions. Let’s bring honor to him who through the name of his son Jesus the Christ by his Holy Spirit saved us.
Go in peace
Michael.
