David had it right
David was a man after God’s own heart. He knew where his victories and glory was from. He understood who directed his conquests. He had it all. Yet he fell. Even after his fall he never cursed our Father, but gave him the glory. He understood where victories came from. He knew where the true glory was from, and it was not himself. It does not matter what we accomplish in this life, what matter is where the glory for what we accomplish ultimately ends up. Let’s look at one baseball star. Kirby Pucket. Kirby was a great baseball player. He was a hero on the field. I have no idea what is relationship with our Father was like. But this I do know, he dies really young. Man’s glory on this earth is fleeting. Mans accomplishments disappear like the wind. They may be remembered like those of George Washington, another man after God’s own heart. He was one who was selfless. He was one who was willing to give all for God and country. The question we all must ask ourselves this day is who am I trying to glorify in all of this? Is it myself, or is it my Father in heaven? There is a little saying out there. My life will soon be past, only what is done for Christ will last. David understood that it was his relationship with Father that was the most important thing in his life. Honestly look at yourself today. What is the most important thing in your life? What is the driving passion of your life? Is it what you can accomplish, or is it what Father can accomplish through you?
