Matthew 7:7-12
Ask, Seek, Knock
These are all action words. Our Father through his Son by his Spirit is waiting for us to come and he will meet every need that we have. But those needs require action on our part. Philippians 4:13 is where St. Paul wrote “I can do all things through Christ who give me strength.” Again that action word is“do.” Yesterday I felt like I was locked in my office. We are called to action. Yesterday I felt like I was locked in my office. The person I wanted to make contact with I kept missing. Then it hit me go south young man. I headed to Mahtowa. I followed a route I normally do not take. I drove by a Covenant church. Father gave me the word to turn and go back. I did. The only person there was the pastor. I showed him Eli and we talked about dreams and giftings. The pastor said,”some of these kids gotta start dreaming. He took the copy and gave me the name and number of his youth leader. Father over and over in his word tells his people to go here or go there. But again they are instructed on what to do. We are instructed in the word to help those who cannot help themselves. Father is not going to drop things in our laps. When I left the church I headed to the Mahtowa bar and grill. I walked in and heard “MIke” it was Allen. I had played church league softball with him when I was a kid. He was there with his wife. I signed a copy for him. One of the cool things he did was look over at the owner who was signing the contract I brought into him and said. “You know this guy is guided by God don’t you?” The owner looked back and said “I know” That was one of the greatest compliments I have received since this book was released. Remember He will open doors; he will prepare people’s hearts for us to be his vehicle to touch them. But we have to be willing to get off of our posteriors and go to work. In his word our Father is clear. He wants to use each and every one of us in a powerful way. We have to be willing to get up walk out the door and be used. Now is the time. Knock and the door will be opened, seek and you will find, ask and it will be given.
