Matthew 21:9-17
Has Jesus cleansed your temple?
My question for each of us today is this. Have we really had the Christ come into our lives by the Spirit in such a way that has turned our lives upside down? In 1st Corinthians 6:19-20 we are told we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Think back to the moment Jesus the Christ died on the cross. The veil of the temple was torn in two. The Holy Spirit left the temple and we became the temple. (Matthew 27:50-51) Father’s spirit would never again dwell in a temple built by human hands. His dwelling place would be men’s/women’s hearts. If we look at the emotion Christ was demonstrating concerning the way the Jews were treating the temple built by hands, just image the emotion over people today treating his temple the way we do. It’s not by accident that we think it’s ok to abort a pregnancy and kill the child that is inside the womb. When this happens the enemy of our souls has destroyed one more temple. When we lay ourselves at the alter we are literally bringing Fathers temple of his Holy Spirit for him to turn the tables that we have allowed to be set up in our lives over and thrown out of our hearts. The question of the day is this. What are we selling at those tables that is keeping us from real relationship with The Father through the Son by the Spirit? What is it in our lives that we need to allow the Spirit of God to turn over and throw out and be cleansed of. Now is the time to ask Father through the Son by the Spirit what needs to be cleansed and thrown out of our lives. What is it that stands in the way of us truly becoming one with Father? What sin needs to be thrown out of our lives? When he shows us we need to take action on, then we need allow Father to turn over the tables in his temple and cleanse us from the inside out.
Go in peace
Michael
