I Thessalonians 5: 16-18 Rejoice always, in everything give thanks. For this is the will of Christ Jesus concerning you. Short and sweet. If we are honest this is a hard thing at times to do. Yesterday I was walking with a friend on his land. As we walked the discussion turned to a car accident he was in that changed his life. That was at the time when His wife and I were praying that he would come to understand who Christ was and have his life completely changed. In a second Father got his attention. That accident got his attention. Yesterday Gregg and I rejoiced in his salvation. Yesterday, Gregg and I understood what giving thanks in everything means. We don’t always have to understand what the reason is for what we are going through. Father has a reason for allowing things to happen. In Romans 8:28 it talks about everything working for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose. If we are willing to go forth in what he is leading us into we must keep in mind the enemy is going to attack. When the enemy attacks rejoicing and thanks become a weapon that has the effect of negating the emotional toll the enemy is trying t have on us. When we praise and give thanks the enemy loses part of the battle because he loses the ability to attack our emotions. It’s like when a Muslim is trying to blow people up and the fuse to his bomb just does not work. When the enemy attacks, praise more, give thanks that the enemy considers you enough of a threat that he will attack you. When the enemy attacks, give thanks and continue what you are doing. You’re tearing down the walls, and Father will have the victory. Go in peace Michael |
