2 Corinthians 8:8-15 We are all called to give. Today is the 4th of July. We celebrate our freedom that was purchased with the blood of patriots. We celebrate with a thankful heart the freedom that was purchased by men paying the highest price man can pay, their lives. Freedom has never been cheep, it always cost blood. The freedom of our spirits had to be purchased with the blood of Christ himself. Because he was willing to pay the ultimate price His blood for the freeing of our very beings from him who wants to destroy Fathers creation. Father expects us to give as well. He expects us to give all that we can give. For those of us who have plenty he expects us to give to those who do not have as much. The way its put here is he who gather much give to those who gather little. Key point is the word Gather. II Thessalonians 3:10 he who does not work shall not eat. What is expected is everyone does what they can. Everyone is expected to contribute something to the whole. So today look at the founding Fathers as an example of bravery that they were willing to give not for just themselves at that point in time, but for every generation that would follow. We are commanded to give. So let’s do it with a joyful heart. Go in peace Michael |
